Do you need proper ventilation for your commercial premises? Sparta Mech are the local COMMERCIAL MVHR specialists and we can carry out these upgrades in all commercial buildings across Hereford.
What are Commercial MVHR systems?
MVHR stands for Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery system. The system removes stale air from buildings and brings in fresh air. During the process the heat from the internal air is passed to the incoming air so heat losses are minimised unlike traditional ventilation systems.
Ducting and vents are installed in key areas throughout the building to provide a constant stream of fresh air into the working environment.
What are the benefits of MVHR in commercial premises?
Ensuring that there is a clean supply of fresh air from outside can mean that employees at your Hereford may be less likely to become ill or suffer from allergy symptoms. The installation of an MVHR system also reduces the need to open windows so less noise pollution enters the premises and overall employee productivity can therefore be improved.
The system is incredibly efficient at reducing heat loss with up to 90% of the heat being recovered from the air that leaves the building passed to the incoming supply of fresh air.
Unpleasant odours can be removed as fresh air is put into the internal environment and stale air removed. The carbon dioxide levels are reduced meaning less fatigue and tiredness from the staff.
Energy use should decrease as the majority of heat from exiting air is recovered and brought back in. Commercial heating bills can be very high where heat leaves a building through open windows used to ventilate a space.
What is involved in Commercial MVHR Installation?
For MVHR systems to be installed it is necessary to carry out a site visit to ensure that your Hereford area building is a suitable fit for the system. The building should be reasonably airtight in order for the system to work effectively.
Local environmental conditions need to be examined to determine the level of filtration that may be required. The more local pollution, the more intense the level of filtration will be required.
A suitable installation location needs to be identified for the MVHR unit and air intake for the building. The air intake should be sited away from any sources of pollution such as chimneys or vents from other buildings.
The internal runs for ductwork will be checked to calculate the best routes with the least duct air turbulence and maximum airflow potential. We ensure that all ductwork is correctly sealed and air vents are of the correct type to minimise airflow turbulence. This will mean that the MVHR unit does not have to work too hard and will limit unwanted noise in the system.
At Sparta Mech, we check all the site conditions before carrying out an MVHR installation to ensure that the system will function as intended and provide clean fresh air to where its needed.
What are the costs for a commercial MVHR installation?
When retrofitting a new MVHR system into an older building, the costs are often higher than those of an installation in a building that is being built. As every quote is bespoke to a specific premises, it is not possible to give an accurate reflection of costs without a site visit and quotation.
