Why upgrade your boiler?

Central heating boilers are not designed to last forever and will eventually fail, normally during the winter months. What is involved in installation?

Checks are made to ensure that the Gas supply is safe and adequate to feed the new boiler. A site visit is often required to check that the installation location will be suitable and that regulations can be met. 

When swapping the boiler over, the system is drained and pipework to the old boiler disconnected. Any pipework alterations are made as required and the new boiler is installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. 

Once the new boiler is fitted to the wall, the flue pipework is installed and the electrical connections are made. The boiler is turned on and several tests are conducted to ensure that the boiler is receiving the right amount of gas, the products of combustion leaving the boiler are correct and that all readings are within the safe tolerances as required by law. 

Can a boiler be relocated?

Relocating a boiler will involve relocating pipework and electrical connections along with making a new exit for the boiler flue. Certain locations will be unsuitable for boiler installation and careful considerations should be made for future servicing and repairs. Its important to ensure that a boiler has good bodily access around all sides for removing parts and internal cleaning. Dirty environments like the loft are not ideal installation locations and can prove problematic when servicing in the future.
